We’re Part of Something Bigger - This was a very exciting adventure with almost more attendees than the room could hold for all our delicious meals together! So many more people are becoming aware of the Whole Food Plant-Based message – the health and environmental benefits of this lifestyle – that we ran out of tickets for this Adventure! The good news is, of course, we’ll have more.
COMMUNITY SHARING With a large group for potlucks there was even more foods to explore, savor the flavors and learn “if they can make these great foods, so can I!” Community sharing is a wonderful part of this program for many reasons! For one, it’s so much easier to take on new habits when others around you are doing the same thing. “I came to support my husband” “My numbers weren’t good, so a friend encouraged me to come.” “Great foods for the whole family”. “We’re learning to cook together and we love it!”
REAWAKENING TASTEBUDS Tasting all the different flavors as presented in many different salads, entrees, sides and desserts is a great way to reawaken taste buds that have long been silenced by sugar, fat, salt excess in the SAD (Standard American Diet). “My palate is changing!” Many found that even within a week cravings were fading away, and folks were enjoying exploring cooking with new foods, discovering the vast variety of fruits, veggies, legumes and whole grains.
IT'S ALWAYS AMAZING - THE CHANGES THAT PEOPLE EXPERIENCED IN JUST ONE MONTH! Improvement in “the numbers” – weight loss, glucose improved, BP down, cholesterol down , and decreased medications; improvement in aches and joint pains with walking and hiking much easier; better digestion, improved irritable bowel and acid reflux; asthma better, restless legs gone; and even improved mood, sleep, mental clarity, energy!!
It always sounds too good to be true, but really, you’re just putting in the nutrients your body needs to function properly, and leaving out all the harmful, inflammatory animal products and processed foods. The more you follow WFPB lifestyle the greater the benefits. "100% is my goal - it keeps me away from the 'slippery slope' and craving sugar, salt, fat."
