“Savor the Flavors” announced the posters for our 2025 Adventure.
And that's exactly what happened!!:
Tastebuds Awaken - While the goal of Healthy Eating Adventure is to “maximize your health”, what was most notable for many participants was the reclaiming of tastebuds and resolving craving. Taste buds are key to health; we evolved with our taste buds guiding us to nature’s nourishment. But they get desensitized and trampled by the added sugar, fats and salts in processed foods. The same process that awakens our taste buds, resolves cravings:

"With experiencing all these flavors I recognized that this food is a lot better. I live right around the corner from a Burger King, and now I can just walk right on by those gooey greasy burgers!"

Participants noticed their taste buds reawakened "After 2 weeks, oh my goodness, I didn’t realize that carrots are so sweet! My taste buds had regained their sensitivity"

"After losing my appetite with chemo, I never expected this could taste so good!!"
Accountability “I didn’t think real WFPB eating was possible, but this helped keep me on track”. This is a key foundation of HEA and it works. Participants noted they could meet the expectation of bringing a dish each week and discovered "I really can enjoy cooking and we learned so much from each other." Seeing and tasting other delicious dishes adds to your inspiration and resolve. "Thank you for all the great food you guys made!!"
Support from the coaches and other participants makes a big difference.

"With this support I was surprised how easy it was to give up meat! So many other delicious options; it’s a much more sustainable lifestyle"
Significant drops in cholesterol and LDL Leaving out meat, dairy, added oils in processed foods will help the lipid profile normalize . Some examples: Total Cholesterol dropped - 237 to 168; LDL - 157 to 101
And: Total Chol 230 to136; LDL 134 - 87; BP 157/78 to 124/70
Patti N reminded folks that while medication might bring the numbers down, WFPB eating will heal and prevent the underlying disease state!
Symptoms of Gastrointestinal upset and inflammation improved

"I haven’t had any heart burn since starting this"

"My IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) symptoms went away." ( Of note inflammatory bowel disorder will also resolve with WFPB eating.)

Energy – Participants loved their increased energy!
A fun story was shared - "My energy increased so much so that I was playing golf with a buddy (younger than me) .. we finished 9 holes and he wondered, maybe we should stop now, but I was ready to keep going and we finished 18 holes!!"
