Isn’t this pottery bowl a real beauty! Wanted to showcase my beautiful new rice bowl pottery…so why not cook some wonderful tasty saffron rice.
Brown basmati rice is one of my favorites; just jazz it up a bit. I cook rice in my pressure cooker – it only takes 6 minutes on medium pressure. If you don’t own a pressure cooker just cook the rice on the stove top or in a rice cooker, follow manufacturer’s directions.
To prepare saffron brown basmati rice: I place the following ingredients into my pressure cooker (I use the smaller of my two pressure cookers); 1 cup of well rinsed basmati brown rice, 2 cups of water or vegetable broth, 2 cardamom pods, 2 whole cloves, 1/2 cinnamon stick and a few thread of saffron. I pressure cook on medium for 6 minutes, set aside to wait for a natural release or quick release if you’re in a hurry…it’s that simple! Don’t forget to remove the pods, cloves and cinnamon stick before serving. ENJOY!
Beautiful presentation, so good for you and YUMMY! Whole food, plant-based, no oil way of eating ROCKS!
